Australians are classified among the highest percentage of meat-eaters in the world. However, statistics will also show, the growing lifestyle choice of a large portion of us moving toward eating meat-free and also animal-free diets.

Research shows that in 2018/2019 only 12% of businesses that provided ready-made meals or prepared meals to consumers, were of a healthy nature. Also, research shows us that only 9% of new start-up businesses and recently created businesses incorporated meals of a Vegetarian or Vegan nature. To us this is astonishing. This was only 3 years ago.

Now, sorry to shove a heap of statistics down your throat, but we here at Exclusive Appetite know that our Vegetarian and Vegan Customers are just as important as our Meat-eating customers. To us, the diets of everyone are important and worth pursuing. This would be indicative of the menu that is available on our website. We haven’t just slapped 2 or 3 options on there to keep the Vegetarian and Vegan people happy, neither have we done this with our meat options. We believe that as time goes on the percentage of meat-eaters will lessen and the demand for meat-free options will increase. Regardless of your meal selections, it’s important for you to have variety and quality, and this is what you shall receive from us.

To set the record straight. We never incorporated Vegetarian and Vegan meal choices as a way to make more money. Our motto is to focus on quality over quantity, this will not change.

I believe that I started my career at the perfect time. 15 years ago, when I first started chopping onions and scrubbing floors, vegetarians were rare and vegans were basically unheard of. Of course, we know that there would have been people out there who wouldn’t consume meat or any meat by-products. However, through my apprenticeship, experiences, and many years of working in this field, I have seen a huge shift in people’s mindset, diets, and meal requirements. That’s why we do what we do. We want to appease as many people with high-quality food as we can not just a select percentage.

I remember it like yesterday, it was about 6 years ago when I truly realised and understood how far our nutritional and dietary requirements had come. I was in charge of cooking a high-class function cooking for not only military dignitaries from all around the world, but high profile people from everywhere you could think of. About 3 days before the event, I got the list of dietary requirements. To put it bluntly, I was staggered with the number of different requirements on the list. Vegan, Vegetarian, Pescatarian, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut Allergies, Fish allergies, Banana Allergies, etc etc. You name it, it was on there. Out of 110 guests, I was required to cook a 5-course fine dining meal for, 22 of them had some sort of meal requirement. That was nearly 25% of the people coming to our function. From there I started looking at these meal requirements completely different. Hence why we have dedicated so much time and effort in to the meal options and menu available for purchase online. It suits everyone.
